I had a really annoying nurse take my blood pressure the other day. The overly-chipper type who likes smalltalk.
Nurse: So, you’re nearly 18 weeks, you’ll have an ultrasound soon!
Me: Yeah, I’ve had 5 so far.
And just the other day, my father’s wife, who I don’t like and is full of crap at the best of time.
FW: So are you going to find out the sex?
Me: Yes.
FW: Oh, you girls these days are so impatient!
Me: No, it’s got nothing to do with patience. With my complications I could end up with a general anaesthetic, and I don’t want to be the last to know.
